Amelia Hughes (Tori Anderson) na co dzień pracuje w Chicago, gdzie tworzy aplikacje mobilne. Kobieta postanawia spędzić święta Bożego Narodzenia w rodzinnych stronach. Niespodziewanie zakochuje się w przyjacielu z dzieciństwa, Mike’u (Stephen Huszar). Spotyka też wuja Harry’ego (Steven Weber), który lata temu pokłócił się z jej ojcem, co podzieliło całą rodzinę.
